7 talented local underground bands will be rocking the SANGRIA stage tonight. I personally feel all this bands have their own identity and character. Each of these bands have their own kind of music that will mesmerize the crowd.

Some of these bands have had exposure performing at various gigs while some are still trying to gain recognition. SENYAP is here to provide the opportunity. This will be SENYAP 6th edition of MUSIC ADDICT and till to-date we have unearthed 4-5 new bands that should be recognized by Malaysian listeners...

We will blog again tonight after the show and hope do come and support all this creative and talented people..

MUSIC ADDICT FOR HEALING....

Playing a musical instrument is definitely a different experience than almost any other. It's a little bit like performing a gymnastic routine and a little bit like creating an art piece but combined together. I especially like playing music where I can add my own interpretation or improvise. It's in the improvisation process that I really feel like I can express myself. I often feel detached when I'm improvising, as if I'm watching what I'm doing and listening, but the flow of the music is being controlled on some other level. There's nothing else in my experience that's quite the same.

SILENCE

After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.

The 60s are gone, dope will never be as cheap, sex never as free, and the rock and roll never as great.....

The 6th Edition of MUSIC ADDICT @ SANGRIA KL....


It was an AWESOME nite of pure music...4 Malaysian bands and 3 bands from Indonesia performing side by side for the 'LOVE' of music. It was sad to hear the much awaited Malaysian Band CAR CRASH HEART had to pull out last minute due to the sudden decision from their drummer to resign from the band. We feel sorry for CCH but surely they will get a replacement drummer in no time. A new band from Mahjung Perak called SLEYKES steal the show on that night with brilliant guitar work and tight music. It was their 1st performances in KL and we are positively sure that they will be invited again for another MUSIC ADDICT sessions. It was told by their band leader it's hard to get a gig in KL due to some reasons not worth mentioning it here. The fact is they are good and have lots of potential if given a chance and SENYAP is proud to be the first Movement to give them those chances to rock the stage that night. 
Seasoned bands Cats In Love was awesome with their neat and precised playing. SATURDAYS and MERCY SIDE band makes the night worth waiting for. Congrats to the ever experienced SenoF with Endra on guitar and Syailendra on vocals. Always nice to watch them performing with the whole band. Overload and L.R.P. you guys ROCK with your metal music...Overal it was a night to remember...
Thanks a million again to our ground coordinators who make the night smooth without any hiccups..You guys are GREAT...

A night to remember...
Subculture was alwayz one of my favorite band of the 90's.It was a night of 90's punk/alternative/grunge and Noughties music. A mixture of old and new. To all the bands participating in our MUSIC ADDICT kudos and thank you a million for supporting our MOVEMENT. To all SENYAP ground coordinators you guys are the best.

MUSIC ADDICT 23rd January 2011 was never a dull moment eventhough 2 powerful bands (DEAD MUSHROOM and Three Myth Calls) had to cancel their performances last minute due to certain good reason. DM has to respect one of their band members were expecting a newborn baby and we would like to say congratulation for that and 3Myth Calls vocalist was being hospitalized  for Dengue.We wish him full recovery..Stand in band was RAZED and Pheelers. Overall 23rd Jan MUSIC ADDICT rock and we can see that all performers had a wonderful time. Thanx a million to all performers, SENYAP ground Staff and for those who attend MUSIC ADDICT.

its sad to see that certain organizations (no names will be mentioned here) taking full advantage of the word 'INDIE' for their own interest. We know who you are and please stop using these performers as a platform for your individual gain.you dont even know what you are doing and you just 'copy paste' others ideas...

these particular groups or individuals have been doing their modus operandi nearly few months. their tactics are going to few outlets befriending with the outlet managers or owners, held a few discussions and asked random questions on how to run gigs and took all the database i.e. bands/performers without the consent of the management, or met few organizers and tell them few 'sweet words' saying they are from certain goverment group who wants to organized gigs/charity and asked certain performers to perform for the charity cause. they 'copy paste' certain groups ideas and this is their core business and using the word 'INDIE' is their main 'catch' for their personal agendas.

its good if you are really fighting for the INDIE and UNDERGROUND cause but if the people behind this so called INDIE organization came from 'Makchik & Pakchik' and have no knowledge whatsoever about music and performing arts can they really really call themselves what they claim to be? we dont have any agendas with this group nor any personal grudge with them but what we are trying to write here is please be honest and sincere about your cause. is it because you need some goverment grants/goverment support for your other businesses or just merely making a profit from the event that you organized??? 

to all performers/musicians/INDIE's and UNDERGROUND group please educate youselves and be aware of this so called INDIE group.  please set your standards and just dont participate blindly just because you have the chance to perform. as we said earlier we know who this people are due to some feedbacks that we get from few musicians. as much as the music industry is growing its still a pretty small community. words do get around and to this particular 'INDIE' organization beware sooner or later everyone will see your true colors.

MUSIC ADDICT @ SANGRIA 16th Jan 2011

It was a cool Sunday Nite @ SANGRIA and this is the 1st MUSIC ADDICT sessions for 2011. Performers such as the ever powerful RAZED, Highly energetic ARABELLA Malaysia, the newbies in the underground scene NEVER EARLY and the much awaited alternative rock of Malaysia FLOP POPPY with their original line up of the 90's and not forgetting the sentimental ballad music of ADIL, a new artiste signed under Flop Poppy labels doing the opening act for the popular Malaysian band.

It was an awesome night with each band supporting the next act and applauding every each songs that the performers played. Though MUSIC ADDICT gig is still new for giggers group in KL, SENYAP will do our best to make it known.

SENYAP will be organizing another MUSIC ADDICT gig featuring DEAD MUSHROOM another icon band of the 90's with the new breed and generation of bands such as THREE MYTH CALLS,LATE NIGHT NEWSCAST,ARIFF AB and ACID HADI this coming 23rd Jan  2011. 26th Dec WARM UP 2011 underground gig was a success. Watching new bands emerged to the scene and seasoned bands supporting our movement was awesome all in the name of 'MUSIC'. The sincerity clearly apparent on their faces who performed that night. No discrimination, No segregations among us. 'MUSIC' is 'FUN' and theres a GREAT positive energy amongst musicians who were there & supporting other musicians and appreciating each others music. Thats what lacking nowadays...Is not the honor that we are chasing nor money or fame but just merely in the name of arts and passion thats what we are for and thats what MUSIC & ARTS is all about.

WARM UP 2011 @ SANGRIA Kuala Lumpur - (Sunday 26th Dec 2010)

WARM UP 2011 is SENYAP first ever gig. It will feature unknown & upcoming bands around Klang Valley. This event is a preview of what SENYAP have in store for the future and our main focus is to unearth new aspiring talents. 

WARM UP 2011 objective is to cut off all the stereotypical commercial bands and artistes that is over exposed and over played in the Malaysian Music industries. The word 'INDIE' has been 'overused' by all groups so much so till it became a 'TREND' and 'FASHIONS' for them. This has caused a slump on the quality and integrity of the music itself. 

SENYAP main idea is to take inexperience performers and give them a chance to gain experience performing to a live audience. Through this kind of exposure the performers will have the chance to polish their act, gain more confidence on stage and ultimately become a true performer. All the bands that SENYAP picked for the 1st ever gig are fresh and hardworking young artistes who wants to be heard,known,respect and to be acknowledge by the mass. We are here to help them and to groom them to be known....
